(فنانة تريسي شهوان) نرسمت هذا العمل الفني من منزلي في بيروت، حيث يقام رمضان وعيد الفصح حاليًا في نفس الوقت. بعد سنوات من الانتقال إلى الولايات المتحدة، فإن العودة إلى الوطن لحضور هذه الاحتفالات كانت مختلفة. تمتلئ المدينة بأناشيد عيد الفصح الحلوة والحزينة، وتتوهج الحشود والمباني القديمة في ضوء البحر الأبيض المتوسط الدافئ الناعم. المعمول، حلويات عيد الفصح التقليدية، تصنع في المنزل على يد خالاتي الخبيرة في رعاية الأطفال. أمشي على الكورنيش بجانب البحر في بيروت، المكان المفضل لدي في العالم، حيث يمكنك الاستمتاع بوجبات الإفطار في المساء. هذه الفترة الروحية والمشاركة هي وقتي المفضل لأكون في المنزل. يبدو أن السياسة الثقيلة للمكان متوقفة للحظة. يذكرني هذا بجمال هذا البلد والأديان العديدة التي تسكنه ودفء أهله. هذا الرسم تكريم لروح المجتمع ووفرة التجمعات العربية.

(Artist: Tracy Chahwan) I drew this artwork from my home in Beirut, where Ramadan and Easter are currently happening at the same time. After years away since moving to the US, being back home for these festivities hits different. The city is filled with sweet, melancholic Easter chants, the crowds and old buildings glow in the warm soft Mediterranean light. Maamoul, the traditional Easter sweets, are made at home, by the expert nurturing hands of my aunts. I take walks on the corniche by the sea in Beirut, my favorite place in the world, where you can enjoy Iftar meals in the evening. This period of spirituality and sharing is my favorite time to be home. The heavy politics of the place seem suspended for a moment. It reminds me of the beauty of this country, the many religions that inhabit it and the warmth of its people. This drawing is a tribute to the spirit of community and abundance of Arab gatherings.
