يسر صحيفة أصدقاء, سلام , ملاذ امن أن تحتفل بعيد ميلادها الثالث في مايو/ مايس سنة 2023! هذا هو عددنا الثامن! نشأت الصحيفة من مشروع في كلية سوارثمور يحمل نفس الاسم ، حيث أراد المجتمع أن يواصل مشاركة ثقافته بطريقة ابداعية. لقد بدأنا مبكرًا في زمن وباء كوفيد 19 من خلال تجميع الدعم معًا من إعلانات الخدمة العامة للتعداد السكاني، والجهات الراعية ، والتمويل الجماعي ، والتبرعات ، ومن خلال الاعتماد على أنفسنا. وعلى مر السنين ، كنا محظوظين لأننا حصلنا على دعم من صندوق الاعلام المستقل في فيلادلفيا، الذي منحنا حقًا القدرة والفرصة للبقاء كصحيفة مجتمعية مجانية ويمكن الوصول إليها. لهذا السبب ، لا يجب أن يكون عملنا مدفوعًا باكتشاف كيفية الحفاظ على الصحيفة فحسب من خلال التسويق والإعلان – فهو يسمح لنا بالمشاركة في إنشاء هذه الصحيفة مع المجتمع ، وفقًا لوتيرتنا المتصاعدة ، وكذلك تغطية الموضوعات التي تهم المجتمع من خلال توزيع الصحيفة على نطاق اوسع، أتيحت لنا الفرصة لشغل مساحة عامة في مجتمع المدينة وخارجها والتأكيد على أن اللغة العربية جزء اساسي فيه

The FPS Journal is excited to be celebrating our 3rd birthday in May 2023! This is our 8th issue! The Journal is birthed from a project at Swarthmore College with the same name, in which the community wanted to continue sharing their culture. We started early on in COVID by cobbling together support from Census public service announcements, sponsors, crowdfunding, donations, and ourselves. Over the years, we have been fortunate to be supported by the Independence Public Media Fund, who has really given us the ability and opportunity to remain a free, accessible, community newspaper. Because of this, our work, doesn’t have to be driven by figuring out how to sustain the newspaper through marketing and advertisements – it allow us to co-create this newspaper with the community, at our pace, and covering topics that interest the community. By distributing the newspaper, we have had the opportunity to take up public space and make sure Arabic is a part of it.
