يوم الحنة هو اليوم الذي يسبق ليلة الزفاف¸ لكن وقبل البدء بالكلام حول هذه الليلة لابد من الاشارة الى ان للحناء فوائد كثيرة حيث تعجن وتوضع على الشعر لتقويته ومنع تساقطه واعطاءه صبغة طبيعية صحية خالية من المواد الكيمياوية وتوضع الحناء ايضا على الاظافر لتقويتها وللزينة وهناك العديد من الفوائد الصحية الاخرى التي يستفاد منها
اعود للحديث هنا عن ليلة الحنة وساتحدث عنها وفقا لما هو معمول به في العراق تحديدا لان الحفل قد يختلف من بلد الى بلد اخر مع ان التسمية واحدة, ليلة الحنة هي الليلة التي تحتفل فيها العروس وصديقاتها واهلها واقاربها بشكل منفرد عن الحفل الذي يقام للعريس واهله واصدقاءه
عادة ماتستيقظ العروس مبكرا في هذا لاليوم للقيام ببعض التحضيرات التي تتعلق بمظهرها وكذلك للاهتمام ببعض تفاصيل الحفل، حيث ترتدي فستان بلون احمر فاخر وجميل جدا يجعلها متميزة بين الحضور، كذلك يتم تهيئة الشموع والحناء والحلويات ونبات الياس والملبس (الجكليت) وسط جو ملئ بالهلاهل ( الزغاريد) والاغاني والرقص , ثم يتم اختيار احى السيدات المتزوجات من الحضور والتي انجبت اولاد وبنات بعد زواجها كنوع من الاعتقاد بالحظ السعيد لتقوم بوضع الحناء في يد العروس وبالتحديد في راحة اليد على شكل نقشات تسمى ( السكاكين ). ويتم اعداد طعام العشاء للحضور في حفل الحناءوسط اجواء من الفرح والسرور الغامرين. اما الحفل الخاص بالعريس فيكون بين اهله واصدقاءه واقاربه ويضعون له القليل من الحناء في اصبعه الصغير( الخنصر) ويتم تقديم العشاء في جو احتفالي يتضمن الرقص والدبكات والاهازيج التقليدية. وفي هذه الليلة لايسمح للعريس برؤية العروس وفقا للعادات والتقاليد المعمول بها وانما يراها في اليوم التالي ( يوم الزفاف) وهذه التقاليد لاتزال سارية ومحترمة من قبل كثير من الناس في العراق وحسب التقاليد الاجتماعية والعشائرية

I come back to talk here about the night of henna and I will talk about it according to what is done in Iraq, Specifically because the ceremony may differ from one country to another, although the name is the same, Henna night is the night in which the bride and her friends, family, and relatives celebrate separately from the party that is held for the groom, his family, and his friends.
Usually, the bride gets up early this day to make some preparations related to her appearance as well as to take care of some details of the ceremony, She wears a luxurious and very beautiful red dress that makes her stand out among the audience, Candles, henna, sweets, myrtus communis, and clothe (jaklite) are prepared in an atmosphere full of ululates (Lululu), songs, and dancing, Then one of the married women from the audience who gave birth to sons and daughters after their marriage is chosen as a kind of belief in good luck, To put henna in the bride’s hand, specifically in the palm of the hand, in the form of inscriptions called (knives).
Dinner is prepared for those attending the henna ceremony in an atmosphere of overwhelming joy and pleasure.
As for the groom’s party, it is between his family, friends, and relatives, and they put a little henna on his little finger (pinky) and dinner is served in a festive atmosphere that includes dancing “dabke” and traditional songs.
On this night, the groom is not allowed to see the bride according to customs and traditions applicable. But he sees it the next day ( Wedding day) These traditions are still valid and respected by many people in Iraq, according to social and tribal traditions.
