We… and Our Newspaper – نحن… وصحيفتنا

:سألنا الكثير من القراء عن هدف صحيفتنا، والرسالة التي تسعى لإيصالها إلى القارئ، فنقولها هنا كتابةً وليس كلامًا

صحيفتنا هي صدى… صدى الأرض التي جئنا منها، صدى ضحكاتنا ونحن نجري في أزقة مدننا وعلى بيادر قرانا. صحيفتنا هي صدى الأرض التي بدأ التاريخ نفسه بكتابة قصتها، صدى البلاد التي مشى عليها الأنبياء، البلاد التي وضعت أول أبجدية للإنسان، البلاد التي سمت النجوم بأسمائها، البلاد التي توصلت إلى اكتشاف الدورة الدموية وعلاج الأمراض النفسية والأورام السرطانية.

صحيفتنا، صدى لبلادٍ كانت الاختراعات فيها هدية لكل البشر، دون أن تحتكرها فئة أو تسيطر عليها مجموعة. هي صدى قصائد الشعر، وألحان الموسيقى، وحكايات لا تنتهي

نعم… صحيفتنا لا تفرق بين معتقدٍ وآخر، فاليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام خرجت إلى النور في أرضنا

أما هدفنا، فهو أن نلتقي فكريًا، ونتبادل أصداء ذكرياتنا، لنحكي للأجيال ما عرفنا وأحببنا، ونرجو منهم أن يستمروا في سماع صدى ما نحاول أن نورثه لهم. نأمل ألا يتأخروا في البحث والعمل على مواصلة تقديم ما قدمناه للإنسانية من علوم واختراعات، وأن يتذكروا دومًا أهمية الحفاظ على ما سعينا جاهدين للحفاظ عليه، حين اضطررنا — ولأسباب أمنية — إلى مغادرة الأرض التي أحببناها… ولن ننساها أبدًا

Many of our readers have asked about the purpose of our newspaper and the ideas it seeks to convey.

Our newspaper is an echo… An echo of the lands where written history began, where the first alphabet was born, where prophets once walked, where the stars were named, and where discoveries in biology and psychology emerged.

Our newspaper is an echo… Of the lands that gave birth to inventions for all humankind, not just for a privileged few.

Our newspaper is an echo… Of the lands that inspired poetry, music, dance, and endless stories.

Our newspaper is an echo… Of the lands we came from, of our laughter as we ran through the alleys of our cities and across the threshing floors of our villages.

Yes, and… Our newspaper embraces tolerance, recognizing no divide between beliefs, for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all emerged from our lands.

Our goal is to meet intellectually, to share the echoes of our memories—what we knew and loved—with future generations, that they, in turn, may carry them forward. That they may build upon our discoveries in science, mathematics, and the arts. That they may preserve what we once preserved when we were compelled to leave the land we loved… but never forgot.
