.كلنا على دراية بشعور الألم والحزن الذي يشعر به شعبي عبر البحار، المنشغلين بمشاكلهم
.الأرض الخاصة تحاول التحرر
جميعنا على دراية بمشاعر الألم والبؤس، إخوتي وأخواتي في جميع أنحاء المدينة يناضلون من أجل السلام، ويحاولون التحرر من البيئات المعادية، والجرائم، والنزاعات غير المذكورة على زاوية المنحدر
تذكرني متاجر الزوايا المنتشرة في أنحاء مختلفة من المدينة بالمتاجر الصغيرة المختلفة الموجودة في القرى
الجيران الذين يتبادلون الهمسات حول ثرثرة الحي، يذكرونني بالأمهات اللاتي يرتدين الثياب ويتحدثن عن الكارثة في الحدث العائلي في القرية المجاورة
الأعمال الفنية الجميلة على جانب المباني المبنية من الطوب تذكرني بالشباب الموهوبين القدرة على تعلم الاتجاهات الجديدة قبل أن تصبح اتجاهات في الأراضي المحتلة
إن تعايش الأديان المختلفة في أروقة مختلفة في مدينة فيلادلفيا يذكرني بذلك أديان متعايشة سلميًا في تلال نابلس ورام الله وتقف جنبًا إلى جنب مع بعضها البعض

Palestine in Philadelphia
Everyday I explore a different part of Philadelphia.
Everyday I yearn for a sense of home and belonging.
Everyday I find a new way to see Palestine in Philadelphia.
All too familiar with the feeling of pain and grief for my people across the seas, occupied in their
own land trying to break free.
All too familiar with the feeling of pain and misery my brothers and sisters across the city fight
for peace, trying to break free from hostile environments, crimes and unsaid disputes on the
corner of the stoop.
Corner stores in different parts of the city remind me of the different small stores in villages.
Neighbors sharing whispers about the neighborhood gossip, remind me of the mamas in thobes
talking about the catastrophe at the family event in the next village over.
Beautiful works of art on the side of brick buildings remind me of the talented young people with
the ability to learn new trends before they become trends in occupied land.
Different faiths coexisting in different corridors in the City of Philadelphia remind me of the
peaceful coexisting faiths in the hills of Nablus and Ramallah who stand side by side with one
another.
Palestine in Philadelphia – I love you both.
